DHAKA: The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations 2018 under eight general education boards, Madrasa and Vocational began across the country Thursday (February 1).

This year the exams are being held with uniform and creative question papers. Only Bangla 2nd paper and the two papers of English will have no creative pattern.

The examinees must take the seats 30 minutes ahead of the starting time, said Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid. 

As many as 20,31,889 students have registered to sit for the test, which is 2,45,286 more than last year, said sources from Education Ministry.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid expected to visit the Government Laboratory High School in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi.

The examinations are being held at 3,412 centers countrywide.

Theory examination will end on February 25 while Practical exam will continue from February 26 to March 4.

As many as 16,27,378 students are likely to sit for SSC examination under eight general education boards while 2,89,752 for Dakhil and, 1,14,769 for vocational exams.

Physically handicapped students have taken part in the examination. The extra 20 minutes will be given to them while, autistic, down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy-affected participants will get 30 more minutes.
