DHAKA: President of Board of Trustees of State University of Bangladesh (SUB) Dr AM Shamim on Saturday observed that the leadership is something innovative.
“The leadership is a must to improve individual skills as well as the standard of the concerned organization,” he said.
Dr AM Shamim came up with the observation while addressing a seminar on ‘Leadership Dynamics’ at the university at Dhanmondi in the city.
He also said, “Mere employees and ‘good managers’ are not enough to achieve the goal in the highly competitive market we are recently experiencing.”
Dr AM Shamim said, “It must be ‘we’ rather than ‘I’. We all must strive to achieve leadership skills rather being mere employees.”
Professor Dr Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor, SUB presided over the programme.
Professor Dr Mohammad Ashraful Islam Chowdhury, Professor Dr Nurur Rahman and Professor Ali Ahsan were the panel discussants at the seminar.
Professor Dr Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury discussed on different aspects and dimensions of leadership including roles & responsibilities of good leaders and the socio-cultural phenomena that are necessary to ensure the flourishment of leadership skills.
Officials, faculty members, students and other Staffs of State University of Bangladesh (SUB), State College of Health Sciences (SCHS), LabAid Group and other honorable guests attended the seminar.
