DHAKA: In the latest move to prevent question papers leaks, the government decided to set questions 25 minutes before the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations begin this year.
Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Division secretary Md Sohrab Hossain said it in a meeting at secretariat on Sunday (March 25).
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid presided over the meeting where law enforcing agencies and representatives of the Education Department took part ahead of the HSC examination.
Secretary Md Sohrab said, “Questions will be set 25 minutes before the examinations start and Dhaka Board will determine the question set by lottery.”
The secretary claimed that the Education Ministry is being blamed unfairly for the crime committed by others. He also said that a very few SSC examinees have been actually affected by the question paper leaks.
Claiming that average 7.5 marks of questions have been leaked in the recently concluded SSC examinations, the secretary said questions were leaked in 12 of the 17 examinations and most of the leaks were in the MCQ section.
