DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said the SSC examinations of any subject will not be cancelled as only questions of objective parts were leaked not creative parts.
The Education Minister came up with this decision after evaluating prove committee report and its recommendations, held at its ministry in secretariat on Thursday (May 03).
He said, “SSC question paper leaks only benefited O.25 percent of the examinees. The committee has given opinion for not to cancel the examinations, as it would not be sensible to cancel examinations for only 4,000 to 5,000 students out of around 20 lakh examinees, who got the question papers just before the examinations.”
The O.25 percent will not affect 99.75 percent. This small figure is not going to affect result of large number of students, he said.
Besides, the report also found no incidents of question paper leak in the madrasa and technical education boards. Therefore, there is no question of cancellation of these exams.
On February 6, a probe body was formed, headed by the secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education Division, over SSC question paper leak.
State Minister for Education Kazi Keramat Ali, secretary of education division among other officials were present at the press conference.
