DHAKA: Students at universities and colleges across the country have been boycotting classes and examinations as a gazette notification abolishing the quota system is not issued within the given deadline.

In Dhaka University, students started a procession from DU central library around 11:00am after suspending all classes.

In Chittagong University, student were seen staging a sit-in on the rail tracks, blocking CU shuttle train service since 8:00am, Banglanews CU correspondent reports.

Students of Rajshahi Universality (RU) have also boycotted all classes and examinations on Monday demanding the gazette notification.

No bus left the campus this morning, RU correspondent reports quoting Masud Monnaf, RU coordinator of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad.
