JATIYA SANGSAD: State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Ministry Md Zakir Hossain told parliament that the government has a plan to form Primary & Mass Education Board by 2022 to run the Primary Education Completion examination.
He made the disclosure in reply to a written question from Awami League MP Nurunabi Chowdhury in a question-answer session at the Parliament on Sunday (Feb 17) with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
He said, “The government has a plan to form a separate education board by 2022 to run the examination of Primary Education Completion under Fourth Primary Education Development Program (PEDP-4)”.
“Non-formal education Act-2014 has been passed in the Jatiya Sangsad in light with specific instructions about various programs in government and non-government initiatives in the field of Non-formal education under Primary and Mass Education Ministry”, Md Zakir Hossain also informed the parliament.
Education Board formation is the key part of Non-formal education Act-2014. As per sub-section 15 (1) of Non-formal education Act, Non-formal Education Board has been formed on August 27, 2016.
With 166 posts, a proposed organizational structure for the Non-formal Education Board has been sent to Public Administration Ministry for its approval, the state minister added.
