DHAKA: Results of primary scholarship, based on the students PEC exams results, has been published and a total of 82,500 students got government stipends.
State minister for Primary and Mass Education Minister Mohammad Zakir Hossian announced the scholarship list at a press conference at the Primary and Mass Education Ministry on Sunday (March 24).
Among them, 33,000 students got the talent pool category scholarship and 49,500 students received the general pool category.
Since 2009, the government gives primary scholarship based on the students’ PEC results. Prior to that, separate scholarship exams were held.
As Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's announcement, Primary and Mass Education Ministry has decided not to take any examination of class I, II and III students.
To implement the decision, a committee has already been formed. They will set the tools. Though the exam will not be taken but evaluation method will remain, he added.
In reply to a query, Akram-Al-Hossain, Secretary of Primary and Mass Education, said, the drive against coaching business is going on in all over the country. Deputy Commissioners are leaving the drive.
