DHAKA: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) authorities paid rich tributes to the Liberation War martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the National Memorial in Savar, marking the 49th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh on Tuesday (March 26).
Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor, Director of Finance and Accounts of the university Md. Ashraf Uddin, Senior System Analyst Muhammad Shahinul Kabir, among other officials of the varsity, were present, said a press release.
Later at 12:00 pm, VC Munaz paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by placing a floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu in front of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in Dhanmondi of the capital city.
After placing the wreaths, Prof Munaz Ahmed Noor said, “Independence is the best achievement of all time for Bengalis. This emancipation has been achieved under the leadership of the greatest Bengali of all time Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He was the only leader who achieved the feat of declaring the Independence”
“So, Bangabandhu and Liberation War of Bangladesh is one and unique. The country would never be liberated if Bangabandhu was not born,” added the VC.
