DHAKA: Girls have outshined boys in pass rates this year in the results of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent exams in all education boards.
This information was found by analyzing the results of the SSC results declared on Monday (May 6).
This year, 2,127,815 students appeared the SSC and equivalent examinations; out of whom 1,068,527 were male and 1,059,288 were female students.
Of them, 866,941 male students have passed the examinations while the number of male students was 682,224. That means the pass rate of girls is 83.28 percent and the pass rate of boys -- 81.13 percent.
Of the 11 education boards, boys are ahead of girls only in Chittagong and Sylhet boards. Girls are ahead of Dhaka, Rajshahi, Jashore, Cumilla, Barisal, Dinajpur, BISE, Madrasah and Technical Education Boards.
