KUSHTIA: Abrar Fahad, a student of BUET (Bangladesh University Engineering and Technology), was buried at his family graveyard in Raidanga village of Kumarkhali upazila on Tuesday (October 8) morning.
Earlier, his third Namaz-e-Janaja was held at the central Eidgah ground in Raidanga village, his ancestral home.
Several teachers of Islamic University (EB), officials of the Upazila administration, police administration participated in the Janaza. The Eidgah ground was filled in the presence of thousands of people.
Meanwhile, locals formed a human chain from where they demanded the arrest and exemplary punishment of the killers.
The second namaz-e-janaza of Abrar Fahad, student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering department of BUET, who was earlier beaten to death at his university dorm, was held at Al-Hera Jame Mosque on PTI Road in Kushtia at 6:30 am.
Later, the body of Abrar Fahad was taken to Raidanga village of Kaya union in Kushtia from Dhaka.
The first namaz-e-janaza of Fahad was held in front of the central mosque of BUET on Monday (October 7) around 9:45pm. At 9:30 pm, the body of Fahad was brought to the mosque.
He will be buried at the Raidanga Graveyard of Kaya Union in Kumarkhali upazila at 10:00 am on Tuesday, said Fahad’s younger brother Abrar Faiyaz.
Abrar Fahad, a second year student of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of BUET was allegedly beaten to death at his dorm Sher-e-Bangla Hall early Monday.
The body of Fahad was found lying between the first and second floors of Sher-e Bangla Hall.
Later, nine leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), including its BUET unit general secretary, were detained over the murder of fellow student Abrar Fahad, police said.
