KHULNA: Authorities shut down Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) for an indefinite period early Saturday following a clash between students of two halls.

“The residential students have been ordered to vacate the halls,” said Registrar GM Shahidul Alam.

He also said male students must vacate residential halls by 5pm while female students have to leave their hall within 10am Sunday.

According to KUET sources, students clashed over a football match between Amar Ekushey Hall and Fazlul Haque Hall on Friday (Nov 01) afternoon.

Following the clash, police were deployed on the campus at night, said Khanjahan Ali thana OC (officer-in-charge) Shafiqul Islam.
