87.90% pass JSC, JDC exams

DHAKA: The pass rate of this year’s Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations is 87.90 percent.

Among them, a total 78,429 students obtained the highest grade GPA-5 which was 68,095 last year.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the results officially at a press briefing on Tuesday (Dec 31).

Earlier in the day, the results of this year’s Primary Education Completion (PEC), Junior School Certificate (JSC) and their equivalent examinations were handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni handed the copies of JSC and JDC examinations results while State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md.  Zakir Hossen the copies of PEC and Ebtedayee examinations results to the premier at her official residence Ganabahban.

Zakir Hossen will later announce the PEC and Ebtedayee examinations results officially through press briefing.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also inaugurated the distribution of free textbooks among students for the year 2020 from the same event.

On November 2, JSC and JDC examinations began across the country with participation of 2,661,682 students. A total of 2,553,267 students took part in the PEC examination that began on November 17. Besides, 350,371 students – 187,082 boys and 166,281 girls attended the Ebtedayee examination.
