95.50% pass PEC, 95.96% Ebtedayee 

DHAKA: The pass rate of this year’s Primary Education Completion (PEC) is 95.50 percent while 95.96 percent of students came out successfully in Ebtedayee examination. 

State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen announced the results officially in press briefing on Tuesday (DEC 31) afternoon.

Earlier Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the results of Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations. As per results, the pass rate is 87.90 percent.

Earlier in the day, the results were handed over to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her official residence Ganabahban.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also inaugurated the distribution of free textbooks among students for the year 2020 from the same event.

On November 2, JSC and JDC examinations began across the country with participation of 2,661,682 students. A total of 2,553,267 students took part in the PEC examination that began on November 17. Besides, 350,371 students – 187,082 boys and 166,281 girls attended the Ebtedayee examination.
