DHAKA: The University Grants Commission (UGC) on Wednesday (Feb 26) now decided to go for cluster admission tests for the public universities canceling its previous plan of unified admission system.
The UGC took the decision in a meeting with Vice-Chancellors of public universities held at its Agargaon office on Wednesday (Feb 26) afternoon.
The UGC has been forced to change its plan as a number of universities oppose adopting the unified admission system to admit students.
Vice-chancellors of five universities including the University of Dhaka did not attend today’s meeting.
However, the UGC took the preliminary decision of conducting admission tests under four different question papers for Agriculture University, Science and Technology University, and general universities.
The UGC said a final decision in this regard will be taken at a meeting again next month.
