DHAKA: Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid has threatened the agitating teachers of Jahangirnagar University that punitive action would be taken if the regular academic activities are not resumed soon.
The education minister came up with the forewarning in a statement at education ministry on Monday.
He also expressed agonize on the recent chaotic circumstances in the university.
The ruling Awami League lawmaker also urged agitating teachers to withdraw their movement which will wipe out academic progress of the institution.
Nahid also warned them that the government would take adequate measures against the agitating teachers if they do not stop agitations immediately.
