BSFMSTU academic council meeting held virtually

DHAKA: The 4th Academic Council Meeting of the Bangamata Sheikh Fojilatunnesa Mujib Science & Technology University (BSFMSTU) was held on Wednesday (July 22) through the online platform of Zoom. 

Prof Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, BSFMSTU, chaired the Meeting. And Mr. Khandaker Hamidur Rahman, Registrar of the University, presented the agenda of the meeting.

With the situation still instilled with uncertainty and instability across borders due to COVID 19 virus, BSFMSTU has shifted all its academic operations online since last March 2020. The classes of all 4 Faculties of the university have been shifted online, enabling students and teachers to conduct and undertake their classes within the safety of their homes through the many Application.

On the other hand Our Honorable Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed conducted Teachers, Students and Officer and Staffs meeting by online platform. 

Along with Prof Dr. Syed Samsuddin Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, BSFMSTU, other members of the academic Council, Prof. Dr. Sushanta Kumar Bhattacharjee, Dean , Faculty of Science, BSFMSTU, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Anwar Hossain, Examination Controller of BSFMSTU, Prof. Dr. A K M Zakir Hossain, Professor of Department of crop Bootany, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh, Dr. S M Bakthiar, Executive Chairman (In-charge) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council, Dr. Mohammad Nazim Zaman, Director (In-charge) and Chief Scientific Officer, Institute of Mining, Mineralogy and Metallurgy, BCSIR, Joypurhat, Dr. Abdullah Al Maruf, Associate Proffessor, Department of Geography and environment Science, University of Rajshahi, Dr AHM Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman, Department of Social work, BSFMSTU, Dr Mahmudul Alam, Chairman, Department of Computer science and engineering, Dr Muhammad Shahajalal, Chairman, Department of Mathematics, BSFMSTU and Mr Ripan Roy, Lecturer, Department of mathematics, BSFMSTU also joined the meeting virtually.

In the meeting, discussions were held regarding the final assessment methodologies and successful completion of the on-going class by virtually. After 2 hour long discussion, the council came to a common understanding and finalized their recommendations. The members of council appreciated the pioneering movement of BSFMSTU in such crisis moment, which is exemplary for others. Finally, the meeting concluded on high notes of hope and wishes for quick recovery of everyone from current predicament condition.
