Bangladesh Inter-education Board has decided to refund part of the registration fees charged from the candidates of HSC and equivalent examinations as this year's exams were cancelled.
Dhaka Education Board Chairman and President of Bangladesh Inter Education Board Coordination Sub-Committee Professor M Ziaul Haque confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Wednesday.
He said: "Since HSC and equivalent examinations will not be held this year, we have decided to give back a portion of the fee to the examinees."
A refund will be made from the test centre fees, including invigilator fee and practical test fee, taken from the candidates, he said, adding that the board is still working to set the refund amount.
Earlier at a virtual press briefing on October 7, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni announced the cancellation of this year's HSC and equivalent examinations due to the coronavirus pandemic.
She also said that HSC candidates will be evaluated based on the average scores of their JSC and SSC examinations.
