The authorities of Dhaka University have suspended the admission test for its Faculty of Business Studies MBA (evening) courses.

The test for the 45th batch of evening MBA was scheduled to be held at Azimpur Govt. Girls' School and College from 11:00am-12:00pm on Friday.

Business Studies Faculty Dean Prof Dr Abdul Moin confirmed the suspension saying DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman made the decision.

Earlier this year, a five-member committee, comprised of deans from major faculties of DU, made recommendation of suspending fresh enrolment into the evening courses till guidelines are being finalized.  

However, the Business Studies Faculty decided to hold the exam despite the recommendation.

Amid criticism, DU decided to suspend the admission test.

Meanwhile, the government has extended the ongoing closure of educational institutions till December 19 anticipating a second-wave of Covid-19 infections.
