The government has decided to reopen the public and private universities of the country on May 24 

Besides, residential halls of public universities will be reopened on May 17. 

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said in a virtual briefing on Monday afternoon on various issues of higher education during the Covid-19 pandemic.

All school, college and universities of the country were closed on March 18 last year in wake of the pandemic. No classes have been held since then. 

However, as the vaccination began in the beginning of February, the government is planning to reopen institutions gradually.
