Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said students, who are above 12 years of old, will be given Pfizer and Mordana vaccines.
The minister said: "Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are being given to students over 12 years old but less than 18 years in the developed world. Students in our country will be vaccinated following the guidelines of the WHO.”
He made the remarks while visiting the Nursing and Midwifery examination center at Tejgaon Women's High School in the capital today (Sep 4).
According to the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), vaccination of school and college students will depend on their age, he said, adding if any student is aged over 18 years can receive any vaccine.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine for children aged between 12-15 years.
