The government will administer vaccine to students -- aged between 12 and 17 years-- upon recommendations from WHO and Covid-19 Technical Committee of the country.
Health Minister Zahed Maleque made the remark while responding to reporters after the cabinet meeting at the secretariat on Monday.
He said: "An application has been submitted to the WHO for approval in this regard. Once approved, vaccination will begin for them."
It requires a huge number of vaccines as there's a large part of the population in that age group [12-17 years], he said, adding the ministry will get a total of 2.5 crore doses of vaccine by the end of this month.
Pfizer and Modern vaccines are currently planned for this age group, he, however, the minister added.
