Education Minister Dipu Moni on Saturday said there is no scope to increase the number of classes immediately as some countries are experiencing the third wave of Covid-19 infections.
She, however, said the government will think for increasing the number of classes from January next if the Covid situation remains same.
The minister made the remark while talking to local journalists after inaugurating a new complex of Palli Bidyut Samiti-2 at Raldia village in Chandpur.
She said classes must be taken following health guidelines and maintaining social distance for now.
The minister also said they don't have enough teachers and classroom spaces for increasing number of classes and maintaining the health guidelines properly.
On Sept 11, school and college students in Bangladesh returned to their classrooms after a long closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The government had to shut the educational institutions on March 17, 2020, after the country reported its first Covid-19 cases on March 8.
