Submission of online applications for admissions to public and private schools in Bangladesh began today (November 25) and end on December 8.
The process will continue till December 8, said the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).
This admissions to both government and non-government schools will be based on a lottery system.
The lottery for state-owned schools will be held on December 15, while the one for private schools will be held on December 19.
Necessary formalities have to be completed using the state-owned phone operator Teletalk.
Students s elected in the lottery process of government schools will have from December 18-23 to get themselves admitted. Students on the waiting list will get December 26-30 for admissions.
For private schools, students s elected in the lottery can get themselves admitted from December 21-27, while the ones in the waiting list will get December 28-30 to get admitted.
The government has lowered the price of admission forms in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the admission policy will remain unchanged and a student can apply to five schools simultaneously.
For the upcoming session, the government has fixed Tk110 as charge for applying to five schools simultaneously, meaning that applying to each school will cost Tk22.
