Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Wednesday (Jan 26) assured the protesting students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) of fulfilling all of their demands.
The minister made the assurance at an emergency press conference at her Dhaka residence this evening.
Not only the SUST, problems of other universities will also be addressed, she said.
Dipu Moni said: "We will look into the issues that have taken place. Action will also be taken if there is any faults or negligence, no matter who they are."
Earlier in the morning, the students, who started hunger strike on January 19 demanding the resignation of VC, ended their fast Wednesday morning at the request of its former Professor and famous writer Muhammad Zafar Iqbal.
But, they announced to continue their ongoing movement against the resignation of VC Farid Uddin until their demands are met.
Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and his wife Yasmeen Haque, former professors of the university, went to SUST around 4am to meet the students.
