The campaign to vaccinate Qawmi madrasa students against Covid-19 began on Sunday (Feb 6).
The vaccination started at 9:00 am at Jamia Siddiqia Mohila Madrasa in Mirpur.
However, the vaccination for the homeless people in the capital will start at 4:30 pm at Kamalapur Rail Station.
Professor Meerjady Sabrina Flora, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services, and Dr Shamsul Haque, Member Secretary of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Vaccine Deployment Committee, were present during launching of the vaccination drive.
According to the DGHS, they have a plan to inoculate 265,000 homeless people in the capital with the moderna vaccine.
On the other hand, around 30 lakh Qawmi madrasa students will receive Pfizer jabs.
