The Dhaka University (DU) authorities have temporarily expelled one of its students for his involvement in sexual harassment.
The decision came from the meeting of the university’s disciplinary committee held today at the university’s Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Building, with DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md Ahtaruzzaman in the chair.
A press release was issued in this regard.
Suspended Kabir Ahmed a master’s student of the university’s Communication Disorders department, said the release.
DU Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Dr. Mohammad Samad, Pro-VC (Academic) Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal, and university proctor AKM Golam Rabbani were also present in the meeting.
Earlier, on September 29, a female student of the communication disorder department filed a written complaint of sexual harassment to the university proctor against the suspended Kabir Ahmed Kowshik.
