Application for the cluster based admission tests of 22 public universities will start from October 17 and continue till October 27 for the next academic year.

Tk 500 has been fixed as application fee of each university for admission.

Farid Uddin Ahmed, joint convener of the cluster admission committee and the vice-chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), confirmed the matter to media on Friday.

The Vice-Chancellor said that by applying to a university and paying the prescribed fee, students will get opportunity to choose the subjects of all the units of that university. No additional fees will be required for individual units. 

After the application, the students will get the admission opportunity based on the results of the admission test and other admission criteria of the university. The application for admission of 22 universities will be completed through a website.

He said, “Students of science group can apply for subjects under commerce and humanity faculties through one application, accordingly students of commerce group can apply for both commerce and humanity faculties through one application. We have taken this decision considering the welfare of the students.”

The departments of each clustered university are divided into three units A, B and C. An applicant can only apply in the eligible departments subject to the conditions prescribed by the concerned university. 

The order of preference of the departments applied for should be given correctly. There will be no possibility of change of preference after application deadline.

The 22 universities included in the cluster are Jagannath University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Begum Rokeya University, Patuakhali University of Science and Technology, Sheikh Hasina University (Netrakona), Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University of Science and Technology, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University, Barisal University, Rangamati Science and Technology University, Rabindra University, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (Gopalganj), Cumilla University, Pabna Science and Technology University, Khulna University, Jessore Science and Technology University, Islami University, Noakhali University of Science and Technology, Maulana Bhasani University of Science and Technology, Haji Mohammad Danesh University of Science and Technology, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman University (Kishorganj) and Chandpur University of Science and Technology.
