Today is the 27th death anniversary of Salman Shah who took Bangladesh film industry to a new height.
He died on this day (September 6), 1996. His death remains shrouded in mystery as it is not clear whether he committed suicide or he was killed.
A case was filed over his death. The case is still pending with court. However, police submitted a report confirming his suicide and his family rejected such claim.
The actor is still alive in people’s mind due to his acting power and special fashion. His premature death shocked fans.
He was born in Dariyapara of Zakiganj upazila under Sylhet. Family members called him as Shahriar Chowdhury Emon. His father Kamaruddin Chowdhury was magistrate and mother Nila Chowdhury politician. Salman was the elder of the two brothers. In childhood, he was a singer. He started acting journey as child artist in BTV. He completed course in folksong from Chhayanaut in 1986.
His maternal grandfather starred in film of East Pakistan titled ‘Mukh O Mukhosh’.
Before coming to cinema, Salman got married to Samira. Some fans believe that he died due to quarrel with his wife. He made his debut in the film ‘ Qayamat Se Qayamattak’ . He acted in 27 films.
