Director Syed Salahuddin Zaki passed away at a private hospital in the capital on Monday night. He was 77.
He breathed his last at 11:53 PM at United Hospital in Gulshan.
Channel i managing director Faridur Reza Sagor confirmed the matter.
Syed Salahuddin Zaki had one son and one daughter, both of whom live in Canada. It is known that a decision will be made about his burial after their return to the country.
He was quickly taken to the United Hospital after his health deteriorated suddenly after 10 pm at his Dhanmondi residence.
Syed Salahuddin Zaki was also known as a scriptwriter, actor, and author. In 1980, he received the National Film Award for Best Screenplay for his first film, 'Ghuddi.' After that, he produced several films, including 'Lal Benarasi' and 'Ayena Bibir Pala.' In the late 1990s, he also served as the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Television.
