DHAKA: The legendary actor and director of stage and TV drama Khaled Khan popularly known as “Juboraj” is no more.
He died at city’s Birdem Hospital at 8:18pm on Friday. He was 55.
He was been suffering from progressive motor neurone disease for the last 12 years which has left the lower part of his body paralysed.
Khaled Khan was associated with both stage and television drama for 28 years.
He joined the leading theatre group Nagorik Natya Sampradaya in 1978. His major performances include acting in Dewan Gazir Kissa, Ocholayoton, Nurul Diner Sara Jibon, Irsha, Darpan (adaption of Hamlet), Galileo and Raktokorobi.
He was a regular actor of television too and acted in more than 30 popular dramas like Shokal Shondha, Eishob Din Ratri, Roopnagar, Lohar Churi and many others.
From his Dhaka University days, where he studied Finance, he was inspired from the great theatre personalities of the time-- Aly Zaker, Sara Zaker, Ataur Rahman, Ferdousi Majumdar and other senior actors.
For years, he has entertained the audience both on stage and on television. From Bishu in Rokto Korobi to Jadukor in Shokal Shondha, he has played one memorable character one after another. He has been a source of joy and inspiration to millions.
Eminent actor and director Khaled Khan was been on ventilator support in an unconscious state after being admitted to the intensive care unit of Birdem Hospital in the capital in critical condition last Monday evening.
His brother Shahin Khan announced the matter publicly at 8:40pm on Friday.
However, he will remain evergreen in his acting and love of millions of his fans.
