The Israeli police have taken into custody a well-known Arab Israeli actress, Maisa Abdel Hadi, because of a post she made on social media supporting the Palestinian group Hamas over their October 7 attack on Israel.
The Zionist police, without naming her, said that they arrested an actress and social media influencer who lives in the city of Nazareth after she expressed support for acts of terror and hate speech.
Maisa Abdel Hadi had posted pictures of an 85-year-old hostage, Yaffa Adar, along with laughing emojis. She also shared another post showing Hamas forces breaking through Israel's security barrier.
One of her co-stars, Ofer Shechter, criticised her post, saying, "I’m ashamed of you. You should be ashamed of yourself. You live in Nazareth, act, and star in our TV shows and films, and then stab us in the back."
Maisa is one of several people who have been arrested for sharing their views on social media platforms about the situation in Israel and Gaza. The Hamas government in Gaza reports that more than 5,000 people have been killed in Israeli airstrikes in the region.
Her attorney, Jaafar Farah, who is also the director of a human rights association called Mousawat, explained that she is accused of supporting terrorism.
The 37-year-old actress has appeared in various TV series, films, and plays.
In a similar incident, Arab Israeli singer Dalal Abu Amneh was briefly detained this week over one of her social media posts.
According to both human rights advocates and Israeli police, members of Israel's Arab minority and Palestinians in East Jerusalem have faced job terminations, college expulsions, and arrests for expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began.
It's important to note that Israeli Arabs make up around one-fifth of Israel's population.
