DHAKA: A music evening by Jannatul Ferdous Tumpa will be held at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in city’s Gulshan area
The program, organized by IGCC in association with Asian Paints, IRCON and Marico Bangladesh, will begin at 6:30pm on June 7.
Born in 1979, Jannatul Ferdous Tumpa got inspiration in music from her parents, especially from her father.
She has completed her bachelor and masters in music from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda in Gujarat.
In 1994, she achieved first position in classical music from Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. She had also done a 4-year course in classical music from Chittagong Shilpakala Academy.
Tumpa has performed in different countries including the USA, Canada, India, Pakistan, South Africa and UK. She regularly performs in several stage shows.
Tumpa has released two Gujarati mixed albums ‘Garbas’ in 2002 and ‘Sugam Sangeet’ in 2003 during her stay in Baroda.
She has recently released a music video composed by Bappa Majumder.
Tumpa’s upcoming soiree will be open to all. Audiences are requested not to bring bags on the premises during the program.
