DHAKA: ‘Transformers: Age of Extinction’ has topped the UK box office with £11.7m in its week of release, knocking ‘Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie’ off the top spot.
‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ is currently at number two, moving up two places from last week with takings of £7.7m.
Teen drama ‘The Fault in Our Stars’ is at four with £558,626 while ‘Begin Again’ is fifth with £456,438.
The much-anticipated ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ is expected to boost this weekend’s box office after its release, reports the BBC.
Starring Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman and directed by Cloverfield’s Matt Reeves, it has already had positive reviews and has trounced Transformers at the US box office.
Michael Bay’s Transformers movie, the fourth in the series, has a cast led by Mark Wahlberg. It has received generally poor reviews from critics.
