DHAKA: The first solo painting exhibition of young artist Monjur Rashid titled “Searching Myself” has begun in La Galerie, Alliance Française de Dhaka on Tuesday.
The exhibition will be continued till November 3
Opening ceremony of this exhibition was held at its Café la Veranda.
Eminent cultural personality Nasiruddin Yusuf Bacchu, Manzurur Rahman, Joint Secretary, Ministry of cultural Affairs, Peoples Republic of Bangladesh and Shahjahan Ahmed Bikash, Associate professor and Chairperson, Faculty of Fine Arts, UODA were among the distinguished guests present in the opening ceremony.
Monjur Rashid, the young artist did his B.F.A and M.F.A in the Painting Department of University of Development Alternative.
He started working on experimental works such as charcoal, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and mixed media in the fourth year of B.F.A.
His works in bottle and umbrellas largely contributed to exploring him into limelight.
Since 2013, he has developed new subjects and objects into works. Moreover, he has already attended more than thirty group exhibitions in home and abroad.
Monjur was awarded in the 12th Anniversary and Annual Art Exhibition by UODA and by some other organizations.
The media he has used in his works are watercolor, acrylic and mixed media.
The exhibition will be open for all.
Visiting Hours: Mondays to Thursdays from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays 9:00am to12:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm Closed on Sundays.
