DHAKA: The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer ‘Happy New Year’ has opened to a phenomenal response at India’s box-office.
Directed by Farah Khan, the movie has managed to break all earlier records on the opening day itself.
A Koimoi.com report says that the film has done a whopping business of over 44.97 crores on Friday itself, The Times of India publishes this report on Saturday.
The report adds that HNY has collected Rs 42.62 cr in Hindi, 1.43 crore in its Telugu version and 0.92 crore in its Tamil version.
Though the critics have rated the film as average, Shah Rukh’s charisma, Deepika-SRK’s chemistry, the peppy music, a dynamic cast and excellent marketing strategies have ensured that the movie gets an excellent opening at the box-office.
The report in Koimoi.com further states that earlier, Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ earned the highest opening day collections at the box-office, followed by SRK’s ‘Chennai Express’.
