Nazmul Ahsan recitation albums to be released Dec 11

DHAKA: Five recitation albums by Nazmul Ahsan will be released at Chhayanaut auditorium in city’s Dhanmondi area on December 11.

The ceremony, to be followed by the third recitation program ‘Tomakei Jeno Bhalobasiachhi’ by the artiste, will be held at 5:30pm.

Noted cultural personality Aly Zaker will be present as chief guest while poet Asad Chowdhury, Professor Manzoorul Islam and recitation artistes Ashraful Alam and Rupa Chakrabarty will be present as special guests at the event, to jointly be organized by Swanan and Bagerhat Theatre.

Nazmul’s new recitation albums will be ‘Tomakei Jeno Bhalobasiachhi’ on selected poems of Rabindrana Tagore, ‘Keo Katha Rakheni’ on selected romantic poems, ‘Abhimaner Kheya’ on selected romantic poems by Rudra Mohammad Shahidullah, ‘Banalata Sen’ on selected poems by Jibananda Das and ‘Guerrilla’ on selected poems on liberation war.

Nazmul, with profound passion in recitation, has been involved in this genre of art since 1980s.

Besides, he was also involved in theatre acting and journalism. But the passion for recitation has kept him active in this arena.

The artiste hopes to work more for the development of recitation by arranging workshops and programs across the country.

Nazmul’s earlier albums include ‘Eso Sparsha Koro’, ‘Neel Samudrer Dheo’, ‘Shoke Sangrame’ and ‘Naam Diyechhi Bhalobasa’.
