DHAKA: A weeklong International Children's Film Festival will begin on Saturday in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet.
Children's Film Society Bangladesh will organize the festival with the slogan of ‘Future in Frames’.
According to the organizers, they will screen films and documentaries made for as well as made by children around the world.
Commenced in 2008, it is the most prestigious and publicized film festival for children in Bangladesh.
Representatives of the Society informed the media at a press conference at Central Public Library in city on Thursday.
The organizers said that over 200 films of 48 countries will be screened in 10 venues in the country.
Children and young people were invited to participate in the festival from all over the country for a film making competition.
However, 30 films were nominated in the competition and five of them will be rewarded at the festival.
Finance minister AMA Muhith on Saturday will inaugurate the festival at Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Central Public Library as the main venue while cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor will be present as special guest in the inaugural ceremony.
