3-day Art Camp at Sundarbans

BAGERHAT: With the participation of as many as 40 renowned artists, an ‘Art Camp’ has started in Sundarbans, the largest mangrove forest in the world, with the slogan of “Art for life”.

The launch, carrying participant artists, has reached Harbaria, the eastern division of the Sundarbans on Friday (February 26).

Previously, renowned artist Shamarjit Ray Chowdhury handed over the bags of color and brush to the artists when the launch approached Joymoni Khal on Thursday (February 25) afternoon.

This unique Art Camp, which has been organized by the Lab Aid Foundation, will continue till February28.

The participating artists of this camp are – Shamarjit Ray Chowdhury, Hamiduzzaman Khan, Abul Mansur, Rezaul Karim, Abdul Mannan, Abul Barak Alvi, Biren Shom, Nissar Hossen, Farida Zaman, Nazli Liala Mansur, Bipul Shah and others.

Saifur Rahman Lenin, the assistant director general of Lab Aid and coordinator of this Art Camp, asserted banglanews that an exhibition will be arranged in Dhaka with the paintings from this camp.

“The money from the sale of these paintings would be donated for treatment of poor and under privileged patients”.

“Other than that, rest of artworks would be showcasing on the walls of the hospital. Those works would help the patients and the visitors to find solace as developed form of therapy or service”, he further said.
