DHAKA: Bangladesh Nazrul Abritti Parishad (BNAP) organized a program of discussion and poetry recitations at the seminar hall of Central Public Library on Saturday (February 27).
The program, Nazrul Abritti Utkarsha-9, was the ninth in a series of events held every two months in which anyone in the audience can recite poems of the national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Veteran poet Asim Saha, BNAP president Shayla Ahmed and noted recitation artiste Nasim Ahmed were present at the program.
Asim Saha, in his speech, criticized racist interpretation of Kazi Nazrul Islam and Rabindranath Tagore and said such an interpretation leads to chaos, misunderstanding and profiteering of the unscrupulous people.
A total of 18 individuals recited poems from their choice at the event.
They were Mafruja Akter Shetu, Noorem Mahpara Prapty, Noman Bashar, Atandrila Ahmed, Syed Jaber, Shah Kamal, Bappi Akhand, Antara Labiba, Al Miraj and Tanmi Islam, among others.
