DHAKA UNIVERSITY: For the first time the Dhaka University (DU) will organize a spring festival upholding the traditional cultural heritage of the country.
Dhaka University Cultural Society (DUCS) will arrange the daylong festival at Mall Chattar on the university campus in city on March 15.
Country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group (BG) will patronize the event and country’s largest newsportal banglanews will be the online media partner.
The organizers made this announcement at a press conference at DU commerce faculty conference room on Sunday (March 6).
Moreover, DUCS and BG singed an agreement in this regard after the press conference.
BG deputy managing director Mustafizur Rahman and DUCS president Waseq Sajjad signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.
BG general manager (sales) Masuduzzaman, DU mass communication and journalism department associate professor and also DUCS moderator Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury and its secretary Ahsan Rony, among others, were present at the signing ceremony.
Mustafizur Rahman said that Bashundhara Group will assist the DUCS to make the festival successful. ‘Festivals bring harmony in life. We can strengthen the fraternity among peoples.’
However, the organizers will arrange soirees of folksongs, presentations of folk plays and stalls of folk products during the festival.
