DHAKA: Dilip Kumar's family, colleagues and well-wishers heaved a sigh of relief as the beloved Bollywood veteran was released from Mumbai's Lilavati hospital, where he was admitted a week ago for respiratory issues.
According to Indian Express, Dilip sahab was discharged before noon Thursday (April 21), reports Dawn.
Dressed in a light pink shirt, he was wheeled out of the hospital at approximately 11.55am and was accompanied by wife Saira Banu and other family members.
A crowd of well-wishers greeted him at the hospital entrance upon his discharge. Saira Banu expressed her gratitude for everyone’s prayers.
Dilip sahab was scheduled for discharge yesterday evening but his doctors eventually decided against it as they felt he would be more comfortable leaving in the morning, reports said.
Dr. Jalil Parker told the media on April 20, "Dilip Kumar is doing well and he is healthy. His reports are normal. We have decided to discharge him tomorrow morning as opposed to today keeping in mind the patient’s comfort".
