DHAKA UNIVERSITY: A two-day Asian film festival will be held in Dhaka University (DU) in city from October 3.
Seven contemporary Asian movies will be screened during the festival to be open for all.
Chinese film ‘House of Flying Daggers’ will be screened at 1:30pm and South Korean film ‘3-Iron’ at 4:00pm and Indian film ‘PK’ at 6:30pm on the inaugural day.
Hong Kongese movie ‘In the Mood for Love’ will be screened at 11:00am, Iranian film ‘A Separation’ at 1:30pm, Japanese film ‘Spirited Away’ at 4:00pm and Bangladeshi film ‘Runway’ at 6:30pm on the concluding day.
Ticket, priced at Tk 20, will be available at TSC prior to the screening. Advance tickets can be bought from ticketchai.com.
A DU Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) Film Club press release said on Friday (September 30).
According to the release, veteran actor Razzak will inaugurate the festival at TSC auditorium at 11:00am on the day. It will also be attended by actor Kabari and filmmakers Morshedul Islam and Golam Sarwar Farooki.
DU vice-chancellor Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique will be present as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony to be chaired by MCJ department head Professor Mofizur Rahman.
MCJ Film Club-published souvenir ‘Asia Chalachchitra Path’ will be uncovered at the inaugural session.
