DHAKA: Bangla Academy has announced the names of seven recipients of Bangla Academy Literary Award-2016.

Bangla Academy director general Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan made the announcement at a press briefing in Shaheed Munier Chowdhury conference room Monday afternoon (January 23).

Before that, the academy allocated stalls for upcoming book fair ‘Ekushe Boi Mela’ through lottery.

The recipients are Poet Abu Hasan Shahriar in the category of poetry, Shahaduzzaman in fiction, writer Morshed Shafiul Hasan in essay and research, Dr Niaz Zaman in translation, Dr MA Hasan in Literature on the Liberation War, Noorjahan Bose in autobiography and Rashed Rouf in children’s literature.

However, no one get the award in Science-Technology and Drama categories.
