DHAKA: Popular Bangladeshi actoress and model Joya Ahsan starring Tollywood Indian Kolkata film ‘Bisorjon’ has been awarded with national film prize in India, according to an official announcement Friday (April 7). 

The film, directed by Koushik Ganguly, bagged the prize in ‘best movie’ category in 64th National Film Awards-India.

Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee co-starred Joya in the film.  

After the announcement, an ecstatic Joya wrote in Facebook, “We are happy. We are pleased. We share this pleasure with you.” 

Storyline of ‘Bisorjon’ revolved around a love story of a divorcee Bangladeshi woman with her Indian lover. Director Koushik Ganguly said that the film depicts that border can not divide love.

Recently demised folk icon Kalika Prasad arranged music for the film.

However, it has been learnt that ‘Bisorjon’ will be released under the banner of Opera Movies in upcoming Pahela Baishakh.
