DHAKA: The Gallery Hall of Chattagram Theatre Institute is all set for Chattagram Indie Film Fest 2018 slated for Thursday (April 19).
Apart from screening films, the festival will feature filmy rally, session of the filmmakers and an event for announcing awards.
Awards will be given under the categories of best film, filmmaker, scriptwriter, artist, videographer, sound director, editor and art director.
The film fest is a one-day program being organized by ‘Drisshochhaya’.
“We are going to open the festival from this year. Our aim is to uplift the festival as a recognized one in international level,” said Iftekhar Ahmed Saimon, spokesperson of Drisshochhaya also a filmmaker and convener of the festival.
As the campaign ended for film submission, the following have been selected for the festival:
‘I am Hungry’ and ‘Biborton’ by Arafatun Rahman, ‘A Parrot Age’ by Robi Chakrabarty, ‘Jerk’ by Manosh Mehedi, ‘Adventurer’ by Rafiqul Anwar Russell, ‘Angti’ by Junaid Rashid, ‘Gorol Aumrito’ by Hasnat Qadir, ‘Papyrus’ by Mohamamd Jakaria and ‘Dul’ by Saica Alam
Besides, ‘Simanto Rekha’, a documentary of filmmaker Tanvir Mokammel, will also be shown for the first time in the port city.
