Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre has been diagnosed with high grade cancer, the actor said in a statement that she shared on her social media profile on Wednesday afternoon (July 4).

Bendre, known for her phenomenal looks and a string of successful cinemas in the 90s, is undergoing treatment in New York, it has been learnt.

“I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis,” the statement reads.

The actor has expressed determination to fight this illness. “I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me.”

Her friends from Bollywood have shown her support and encouragement through their posts on Twitter, Instagram.
