DHAKA: The latest edition of Miss World Bangladesh has begun through holding an inaugural audition round at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) Sunday (September 16). 

Women across the country are sending their entries in the most sought-after beauty pageant.

Meanwhile, over 30,000 aspirants have registered their names, sources from Organizer Antar Showbiz told Banglanews.

Model-actor Tarin, Emi, Singer Shuvro Dev, Actor Khaled Sujan and Barrister Farabi will on the judge panel.

Icon judges will be added in grand finale to be held in early October. 

DJ Sonica is hosting the auditions.

7 of the contestants will represent Bangladesh in the Miss World pageant scheduled to be held in China on December 7. 

“Confusion unrolled last year’s edition due to filing false information. This year, we have incorporated a regulation of fining Tk 10 lakh if anyone register her name with false information,” Swapon Chowdhury, owner of Antor Showbiz, said.  

“We are scrutinizing the confidentialities, by our team and various agencies,” he added. 

However, Jesia Islam was crowned the 2017 Miss World Bangladesh as controversy marred the edition following a contestant’s hiding of marital status before entering the contest.
