RAJSHAHI: Upohar Cinema Hall located in New Market area of Rajshahi city is set to joins the race of shutting down permanently, following many other theatres of the country.
The lone cinema hall of the northern city will lie down a bulldozer any time.
It will be replaced by a multi-storey building, said sources.
The hall authorities already have disclosed the matter to the staff.
Upohar is now screening Shakib Khan starring ‘Naqaab’.
After Friday (Oct 12), no movies will be screened, said sources.
The three-decade-old cinema hall was constructed in 1985.
Rajshahi city had as many as six cinema halls including Rajtilok, Aloka, Lily and Utshab which had been demolished in near past.
