DHAKA: The first namaz-e-janaza of the legendary singer Ayub Bachchu was held at National Eidgah after Jumma prayers on Friday (October 19).
Thousand of people attended the prayer.
Earlier, fans paid their last respects to celebrated guitarist, songwriter, composer and singer Ayub Bachchu, at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka morning.
An ambulance carrying the body of Ayub Bachchu reached on the premises of Shaheed Minar around 10:30am on Friday.
Huge number of law enforcers has also been deployed there to ensure law and order.
His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at the National Eidgah after Jumma prayers. Later, his body will be kept at the Square Hospital mortuary.
Ayub Bachchu will be buried next to his mother’s grave in Chattogram, his birthplace, on Saturday.
Bachchu – a legendary singer, guitarist, and songwriter – died on Thursday morning at the age of 56 in Dhaka.
He left behind his wife, a son and a daughter, alongside a huge number of relatives, disciples and admirers to mourn his death.
