CHITTAGONG: The body of legendary Bangladeshi singer, guitarist and songwriter Ayub Bachchu has arrived in Chittagong for burial.
A US Bangla Airlines flight carrying the body of the musical maestro, landed at Shah Amanat International Airport at 10:55am on Saturday.
His body, accompanied 25 relatives including his wife, son and daughter, was later taken to his maternal grandfather’s home.
Chittagong Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin received Bachchu’s body on behalf of the city’s citizens.
Bachchu’s fourth namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Jamiatul Falah Mosque. His body will be kept in the mosque premises from 3pm until his namaz-e-janaza after Asr prayers.
Ayub Bacchu will be laid to rest beside his mother’s grave at the Chaitanya Goli graveyard.
Ayub Bachchu died on Thursday morning in Dhaka at the age of 56. Hundreds of fans paid their last tributes to the legendary rock star at the Central Shaheed Minar premises on Friday.
